Dr Susmita Nandi (Ph D, Post Doc, MBA (Executive))

Dr. Susmita Nandi is a highly accomplished leader and founder member of Synsys Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals LLP. With a strong academic foundation, including a Ph.D. and post-doctoral research experience from esteemed institutions like IIT Kharagpur, the University of Kansas, and NCL Pune, she brings over 25 years of expertise in chemical research and project management. Her executive MBA from MIT, Loni, Maharashtra, further enhances her business acumen. Having worked with renowned organizations such as TCGLife Science, Sai Life Sciences, and Infinia Science, Dr. Nandi leverages her extensive industry knowledge to drive innovation and growth at Synsys. As a director, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction, fostering a culture of excellence, and delivering high-quality products that make a meaningful impact.

Dr Debashis Datta (Ph D, DMS)

Dr. Debashis Datta brings over 40 years of expertise in R&D, API, and techno-commercial leadership to Synsys Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals LLP. With a distinguished career spanning senior leadership positions at Mylan Global, Merck Development Centre, and Lupin Pharma, Dr. Datta is well-equipped to drive innovation and growth. His vision and strategic direction are instrumental in shaping the company’s future, focusing on developing high-quality products and fostering a culture of excellence. Under Dr. Datta’s guidance, Synsys is poised to make significant strides in the industry.

Dr Snigdha Gupta (Ph D, Post Doc)

Researcher and Academician: Over 15 years of experience

Dr. Snigdha Gupta brings a wealth of scientific expertise and academic excellence to Synsys Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals LLP. With a Ph.D. in Material Science and postdoctoral research experience from esteemed institutions like IACS, Jadavpur, Kolkatta and The University of Toledo, Ohio, USA, Dr. Gupta is a leading expert in material synthesis and characterization. Her 15+ years of teaching and research experience, including tenure as a Senior Project Scientist and Program Manager at IIT Kharagpur, enables her to drive research excellence, technological innovation, and collaborative development across our R&D initiatives. Dr. Gupta’s leadership and scientific acumen continue to shape Synsys’s vision of delivering cutting-edge chemical and pharmaceutical solutions through a culture of scientific rigor and creativity.

Co-Founder and Director of Athena Generics Pvt Ltd

Dr. Girij Pal Singh, Co-founder and Director of Athene Generics, is a globally recognized expert in Process R&D and Techno-Commercial Strategy. Dr Singh brings over three decades of  leadership experience in process development, technology transfer, and cost optimization. Dr. Singh has an exceptional track record of innovation, having filed over 600 patent applications worldwide, with more than 250 patents granted across the United States, Europe, and India. His pioneering contributions in green chemistry, sustainable synthesis, and process optimization continue to shape the global landscape of industrial chemistry and pharmaceutical manufacturing. In addition to his patent achievements, Dr. Singh is the author of over 60 research publications and has been instrumental in filing more than 200 Drug Master Files (DMFs) for various APIs developed under his leadership at Lupin Limited — further demonstrating his ability to translate innovative science into globally recognized industrial success. As an advisor, Dr. Singh’s vast experience and industry insights will enable us to drive excellence, optimize processes, and deliver high-quality products that meet global standards. 

Dr. Purna Chandra Ray

As a seasoned synthetic organic chemist with a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Chemistry from the University of Delhi, Dr. Ray brings over 35 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, having worked with top Indian pharmaceutical companies like Ranbaxy, Mylan, Lupin, GVK, and Arene. His expertise in generic drug development, patent invalidation strategies, and regulatory affairs will provide Synsys with valuable insights and guidance. With several international journal publications and patents in the US and Europe, Dr. Ray’s contributions are expected to drive innovation, enhance product development, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
